“Invincible” is back with a whole new season! After the events of the previous season that you may or may not remember thanks to the prolonged absence between seasons, Mark now struggles to be seen as the hero that he always strived to be. On top of that, his girlfriend Eve is struggling to control her powers as her constructs melt into goop. All the while across the stars, a war is brewing between the Viltrumites and those who would stand against them. Those who would stand against them will need the help of both Invincible and his father Omni-Man to have a fighting chance.
Now, I wasn’t able to watch the full season, so it’ll be difficult to give a well-rounded consensus on it, but from what I have seen thus far, this season has a bit of a slow start going in, but it does manage to pick up the pace and build a better momentum as it nears the season finale. Not that there is anything wrong with the first few episodes, but it did leave me feeling that maybe perhaps the series had lost its powerful punch that left such a great impact with episode one of Season One.

There were a few jokes in this season that genuinely made me laugh, but one joke in particular really overstayed its welcome to the point where it stopped being funny. There was another joke where two characters were conversing while going down a large pit that just felt so drawn out and unnecessary. It’s something that I’ve become painfully aware of ever since the creators drew attention to it in that one specific episode from one of the previous seasons where Mark was at a convention.
However, as you near the final four episodes of the season (two of which I have not seen yet), that’s when the series picks up steam and shows that it does still pack a punch and leaves you wanting more just to see where it’s going. I know that I definitely want to see more of what’s about to happen just like the rest of the fanbase.

There’s not a whole lot that I can say about the animation as it’s the exact same animation style as the previous season. Done with the same animation tricks that were brought up in that one episode that I had mentioned earlier. Nothing necessarily bad, but nothing new to really write about.
Overall, fans of “Invincible” are still going to enjoy Season Four. Is this the last season? As far as I know, it is very unclear, but it does feel like the series is nearing a logical closing point. This is coming from someone who has not read the source material. For all I know, this could go on forever, but every series needs a good ending. Or, in most cases, just an ending. I’m looking at you, “Game of Thrones”! But while I anxiously wait to see how this season ends, I can say that fans are sure to find things to like this season without a doubt. But if the series has not won you over yet, this one isn’t going to be the one to do it.
