This is my 1st Video Blog for The Oscars and my favorites so far.

This is my first Oscar Blog. When October comes you know its Oscar season. With that comes great movies and Great Performances. This is gonna be a rundown of who I think are the front runners in all the major Oscar categories and my top pick so far. I’m gonna start off with Best Picture and go on from there.
I have been singing the praz of A Place Beyond the Pines and I’m not gonna stop now. It is a great movie with great performances from Ryan Gostling, Bradley Cooper and Eva Mendez. Derek Cianfrance crafts a masterpiece of a movie. Its very gritty and realistic. This is one of the best this year so far. The Butler is the third movie from director Lee Daniels and I think its his best by far. The story of a real man Eugene Allen fictionalized. The acting really propels this movie forward. Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey will get a lot of the credit but I think this is a great all around cast. Prisoners has come out of nowhere but, has garnered a lot of critical acclaim. A little long but, very gripping and suspenseful. Once again the performances by Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllanhal make this movie as good as it is. Captain Phillips is out in limeted release and wide in a week but there is no doubting that this is a Oscar contender. Tom Hanks gives a really good performance as the title character who is put into a very difficult circumstance. When he is kidnapped by Somali pirates. This is based on true events. Paul Greengrass directs another phenomenal movie about real events after United 93 earlier in his career. Gravity is a fictional movie but, very realistic. Sandra Bullock and George Clooney give great performances as astronauts. There working on a satellite when another one get destroyed and is headed for our astronauts Ryan Stone and Matt Kawalski. In a fight for there lives they break away from the shuttle and end up floating in space. After this its all about special effects and cinematography and breathtaking views of earth and space. Alfonso Cuaron has crafted his best movie yet in this remarkable achievement.
In the weeks to come I will go over my favorites for Best Actor and Actress as well as Director. There are still quite a few movies still to come that will shake this Oscar picture up so keep up to date with all my reviews and blog entries! This is “Skip” From the Fourth Row!
