Pawel Pawlikowski broke into the public conscienceness with his film “Cold War,” which was nominated for many three Academy Awards. Before that, his film “Ida” was also a critical darling among film aficionados. Later this year, his new film “Fatherland” will be released wide after it had its world premiere last week at the Festival de Cannes Film Festival. Like his other films, Pawlikowski focused his lens on the Polish experience involving the Nazi German occupation of his homeland. Mubi picked up the American distribution rights for the movie.
