Recently a lot of young talented actors have popped into the public eye. Michael B. Jordan ,Zac Efron and Dane Dehaan among others. One of them is Miles Teller. Teller is from Downingtown,Pensylvania. As a child his family moved around a lot do to his fathers job as an engineer. They moved to New Jersey and then later to Florida. He graduated from Lecanto High School in 2005. Teller attended Tisch School of the  Arts at New York University where he attained a bachelor of fine arts.
In 2010 Miles Teller had his breakout role as a teenage kid (Jason) who accidentally runs over a little boy. Also starring Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart as the grieving parents of the little boy who got run over.
From 2012 to present Teller has taken some of the more lessor roles he is known for. In 2011 he would star in the remake of the popular 80’s dance romance movie Footloose. The original starred Kevin Bacon. Shortly their after he would co-star in the party movie Project X in 2013. Early in 2013 he would star in 21 and Over another teen angst movie. Later that year he would get critical acclaim while co-starring with Shailene Woodley in the smash hit The Spectacular Now. Teller plays Sutter Kealy a boy who is the most popular boy at his school. He goes to a party one night and gets drunk and finds himself on the lawn of Amy Finecky Played by Woodley. This is a coming of age story about a boy and a girl who need each other to find where there going in life. It was one of my favorite films of 2013.
This year has been an up and down year for Teller. He first starred in the romantic comedy That Awkward Moment with the aforementioned Michael B. Jordan and Zac Efron back in January. Also in February he co-starred with Shailene Woodley again and Ansel Elgort in the teen sci-fi adventure novel turned film franchise Divergent. Back at the Sundance film festival a movie called Whiplash premiered with a lot of buzz around it. It stars Miles Teller as Andrew Nyman a boy selected to go to one of the most prestigious music schools in the country. Mentored by (J.K. Simmons) Terence Fletcher a maestro of jazz music. Teller’s Andrew get more then he bargain’d for when the teacher is very fierce and demonstrative towards him and his other band mates.
I have been a fan of Miles Teller from way back when I saw The Rabbit Hole and new he was gonna be a star. The role in the Spectacular Now cemented that for me and a whole lot of other people such as film critics and pundits. This role in Whiplash could be his first Oscar nomination but it probably won’t be his last. With the big blockbuster The Fantastic Four movie coming out next year where he is cast as Reed Richards otherwise known as Mr. Fantastic and another romantic comedy coming out later this month The Two Night Stand. He can only gain acclaim and popularity amongst fans and critics alike. His career is definitely on the upswing and doesn’t look to be headed down any time soon.
