“The Debut” is the follow-up film from writer/director Jesse Eisenberg. His last movie, “A Real Pain,” was a critical success winning an Academy Award for Kieran Culkin for Best Supporting Actor. His latest film “The Debut” is a 2026 A24 musical comedy film, starring Julianne Moore as a shy housewife who transforms into a zealous method actor in a local theater production, much to the dismay of the show’s director, played by Paul Giamatti. The cast also includes Halle Bailey, Bernadette Peters, and Eisenberg himself, with production by Fruit Tree and Topic Studios, and a fall 2026 release expected. Here is the trailer.
